Who to tell

People normally wait until 12 weeks to tell people but in our case we told everyone a week after we found out. Which was a shock to all our family.

I had this big idea in my head of how we would tell everyone we were having a baby but like our little bump it didn’t quite go the way we thought it would. I thought I could make little boxes for each grandparent to be with mugs and baby grows but we didn’t have time to prepare for that.

I took a test in the Sainsbury’s toilet on my lunch break and then sat in my car crying and phoned Josh on my lunch break to tell him I was pregnant. I had such mixed emotions about being having a baby, I was excited but so scared we hadn’t planned for a baby. I had a thousand questions going through my head. What if we weren’t ready? Didn’t have the money? Couldn’t provide a good life? A good mother?

The most important person to tell we my partners daughter! But I didn’t want to just tell her she was going to be a big sister I wanted it to be something she would remember for a lifetime.

We had booked to go to Lapland UK just before Christmas and I thought it would be the perfect time to tell her there. With how amazing Lapland are you get to personalise your visit, so we decided who better to tell her than Santa! 🎅🏻
